What is MOQ, and why does it exist?

MOQ (minimum order quantity) is the smallest number of pieces a factory will produce for one order. At JIUMU, MOQ is not a rigid wall — it’s a flexible range: depending on product type, material and customization method, orders can start from 20–50 pieces.

For a 50-piece order this means a local team, a new brand or an event organizer can order factory-direct pricing without committing to huge volumes — and scale up later.

Why factories set MOQs

  • Embroidery digitizing and print setup are fixed costs on every order
  • Fabric cutting and dyeing have practical minimums
  • Production planning and quality control need batch structure
  • Spreading fixed costs over more pieces lowers the per-unit price

Six factors that move your minimum

The same product can have a different minimum depending on how it’s customized. These are the variables we weigh when quoting your order.

PRD

Product type

Hats, jerseys, pants, socks and bags each have different production setups and minimums.

DEC

Decoration method

Embroidery and sublimation carry setup work; simpler decoration is easier to run in small batches.

COL

Color count

Each Pantone color and each fabric color adds to dyeing and stock planning.

STY

Style count

More styles in one order means more setups — one style runs more efficiently.

FAB

Fabric & material

Standard in-stock fabrics allow smaller orders than custom-developed materials.

PKG

Packaging

Private-label boxes and custom packaging have their own minimum runs.

Five ways to make a small order work

Designed for new brands, small teams and trial orders.

1

Combine your teams

Order hats or jerseys for several teams in one order — total quantity unlocks a better tier.

2

Keep it to one style

One hat style or jersey style runs far more efficiently than several styles in small numbers.

3

Limit colors

One primary color plus one accent keeps dyeing and inventory simple.

4

Choose stock-friendly materials

Standard fabrics allow smaller minimums than custom-developed materials.

5

Start with a trial order

Test quality with a small order, then scale up — your spec stays on file for reorders.

When should you order?

A simple planning rule that protects your opening day: give yourself 4–6 weeks from order to delivery.

6+ weeks

Ideal — best options

Time for samples, sea freight and the best price. Rush fees and air freight avoided.

4–6 weeks

Safe — standard plan

Sample + bulk production + express or air shipping. Works for most teams.

Under 4 weeks

Tight — possible

Express shipping and an approved spec can work, but choices narrow. Ask us about your date first.

MOQ & lead time questions

JIUMU offers flexible MOQ support. Depending on product type, material and customization method, orders can start from 20–50 pieces — suitable for small teams, new brands, local clubs, event organizers, trial orders and private-label startups.

After design confirmation, we provide a digital mockup, then a physical sample in about 3–5 days so you can verify material, color, logo effect, fit and finishing before bulk production.

Every order carries fixed costs: embroidery digitizing and setup, fabric cutting minimums, production planning and quality control. Spreading those costs over more pieces lowers the per-unit price.

For many projects we work with flexible MOQs from 25–50 pieces depending on the product. Samples and small trial orders are also available to test quality before scaling up.

After sample approval, bulk production typically takes about 2–4 weeks depending on product type, quantity and season. The exact schedule is confirmed in your quotation, with quality control throughout.

Express couriers typically deliver in 3–7 days, air freight in about 1–2 weeks, and sea freight in 3–6 weeks. The right option depends on your order size, budget and deadline.

As a planning guideline, order about 4–6 weeks before opening day: 1–2 days for design and mockup, 3–5 days for sampling, roughly 2–4 weeks for bulk production, plus shipping. Ordering early also lets you choose slower, cheaper freight.
